Re: Volunteers needed for a Smoking Cessation clinical research study
Dear Volunteer:
I am conducting a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational vaccine vs. a placebo for smoking cessation. Quitting smoking is one of the more difficult goals to reach. Despite the numerous detrimental health effects of smoking, only a small percent of people who attempt to quit are successful.
This clinical trial is looking at a different approach to smoking cessation by studying an investigational vaccine. Eligible volunteers can expect 20 visits and several phone calls over approximately 1 year.
To be considered for participation in this research study, you must be 18 to 65 years and meet all the entry requirements to the study. Medical staff at my office will review the criteria with you to determine if you’re eligible.
Qualified participants will receive all study related care at no cost including:
- Investigational vaccine or placebo
- Smoking cessation counseling (in person and via telephone)
- Physical Exams
- Lab work
Monetary compensation is available for time and travel expenses.
For more information, or to find out if you, a family member or a friend may be eligible, please call us at 843/856-3784 (856-DRUG), or apply online at http://www.coastalcarolinaresearch.com.
