A: Yes, we have a separate room for all visiting monitors.

Q: How many monitors can CCRC accommodate per day?
A: CCRC has room for 4 monitors at a time in Mt. Pleasant and room for 2 monitors at our new Goose Creek office.

A: Yes, we have separate DSL and secure wireless (Mt. Pleasant only) available.

A: Yes, copiers are near the monitoring room at both locations.

A: Yes, the fax machines are right next to the copiers.

A: Each site has small kitchens available with microwaves and refrigerators.

A: Yes, both offices have CLIA waived laboratories.

Q: Do you have a patient database?
A: Clinasyst is our Clinical Trial Management database. Currently is have over 7,600 active research patients in it. It can be queried within minutes according to age, gender, race and medical history.

A: No, we have paper charts.

Q: How much notice do you require before scheduling monitoring visits?
A: 10 to 14 days would be preferable but we can work with a shorter notice if needed.

Q: How busy is the Charleston International Airport?
A: Our local airport is getting busier but relative to other regional airports (ie: Raleigh/Durham, Charlotte, Atlanta) it is MUCH smaller and MUCH easier to get in and out of.

Q: How far away is the airport from your research site?
A: Approximately a 15 minute drive from either of our research site locations.

Q: What transportation is available from the airport?
A: Shuttle service, taxi cabs and rental car agencies are readily available. CCRC’s recommendation is that monitors should rent a car.

A: Parking is free and located immediately outside both our research centers.

A: CCRC has been conducting clinical research studies for over 10 years.

A: CCRC has 6 full-time and 1 part-time coordinators. Combined they have over 80 years of research experience in multiple therapeutic areas.

A: Nancy Dinsmore is our President and generally is the primary signatory on all CCRC contracts.

Q: What emergency procedures to you have available on-site?
A: Injectable epinephrine, benedryl, and oxygen are on-site. Most of our staff is trained in Basic Life Support and local hospital emergency rooms are nearby at both locations.

Q: What is the closest hospital to your site(s)?
A: East Cooper Regional Medical Center is located about ½ miles from our Mt. Pleasant office. Trident Medical Center is located about 5 miles from our new Goose Creek location.

Q: When departing Charleston, here are a few things to remember:
A: If a taxi to the airport is required, it must generally be arranged in advance. Expect at least a half-hour wait for a taxi to arrive. The hotel staff can help arrange for a taxi. Another option is to take a shuttle van from the airport - this may be cheaper.

In the U.S., it is important to arrive at the airport at least one hour before the flight is scheduled to leave. This allows time for security screening.
