Re: Volunteer for an Acute Migraine research study
Coastal Carolina Research Center is seeking volunteers for an acute migraine research study. We will be testing an investigational device which delivers the medication via a nasal spray and will be evaluating how effective and quick it relieves migraine headache pain. If you suffer from migraine headaches you may qualify.
To be considered for participation in this research study, you must be 18 to 65 years of age, have 1 to 8 migraines per month and have had migraine attacks for more then 1 year. If you currently take medication to prevent migraine headaches you may still be able to volunteer. Medical staff at my site will review additional criteria with you to determine if youre eligible.
If you are eligible and decide to participate, you can expect 3 office visits: an initial screening visit, a baseline visit and a final visit which will occur after treatment of a single migraine attack. All study participants will be instructed to treat one migraine headache with the study medication and will be asked to record results in a diary.
All eligible volunteers will receive the following at no cost:
- Study medication and device
- Physical Exam
- Lab tests
- Migraine evaluation
- ECG
Monetary compensation up to $150 for time and travel expenses will be paid for all eligible volunteers.
For more information, or to find out if you may be eligible, please call Coastal Carolina Research Center at 856-3784 or you are welcome to apply online at www.coastalcarolinaresearch.com.
Thank you for the interest. Volunteers are the most important part of medical research and we cant do our work without you.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Strout, MD
